The Brief

We have a long relationship scoring brand campaigns for Singapore Airlines. In 2019 we were commissioned to compose the score for their stunning new inflight safety film. Bringing a cinematic approach to the film, the music needed to capture the spirit of the iconic Singapore Girl as she journeyed around Singapore’s landmarks and hidden gems.

The Approach

Although we were creating an original contemporary piece, we also wanted to imbue the history and heritage of the airline, so we used a subtle thread of the iconic ‘Singapore Girl’ melody throughout. Weaving the score around the important safety message, the music had to have a great deal of light, shade and dynamics. Only a full orchestra was appropriate to bring the piece to life.

The film has had over 1.7 million views on YouTube. Here are some of the comments:

The score for this brand spot was the thread that carries the viewer through these wonderous representations of the unique spaces that are part of the SIA onboard experience.
