The Brief

The Heart Foundation is the trusted peak body working to improve heart disease prevention, detection, and support for all Australians. Our missions was to create an ownable sound of the Heart Foundation that can support the full range of their content and fundraising initiatives..

The Approach

A music audit revealed charities use familiar traditional instruments (eg. piano) to convey trust and support emotional stories. The heartbeat sound effect is also very commonly heard as shorthand for passion, humanity or science.
Heart Foundation have the ultimate permission to sonify the heartbeat, but distinctiveness was critical. 
We created a signature rhythm based on a human heartbeat that is the hero element of the brand music and provides the rhythm for the positive audio logo melody..

How It Resonates

Before launching the new brand anthem and audio logo, it was tested against a wide range of Heart Foundation branded content to ensure that the tone of the music supported messaging from tragic to inspirational and the logo provided a sense of hope.
