Ralph Van Dijk is a world authority on audio branding, content and marketing. Before Resonance, he founded audio specialist agency Eardrum in London in 1990 and launched it in Australia in 2006.
With a deep understanding of the power of sound and the spoken word, his passion is fuelled by a determination to innovate, subvert and explore new ways for brands to connect with their audience through sound across all platforms.
Ralph’s most recent highlights include One Show Grand Prix, three Gold Lions at Cannes, New York Festival Gold and three times Radio and Audio Agency of the Year at the London International Awards.
In recognition of these accolades, he was selected as an ‘advertising legend’ to serve as Jury President at the 60th anniversary of the Cannes Lions Festival.
Ramesh has been helping brands discover their sound for over 20 years. Starting work at Song Zu Sydney in 1996, within three years he was made Creative Director of Song Zu Singapore at the age of 25. He founded Resonance in 2020 and works as Executive Creative Director of MassiveMusic.
He has contributed to worldwide and regional campaigns for some of the world’s biggest brands including Singapore Airlines, Amazon, Qantas, Commbank and Etihad Airways and he plays an integral part in all sonic branding for Woolworths.
Ramesh has been a part of the judging panels for many international award shows, including Jury President for Music and Sound at LIA, as well as a jury member for Clio and AWARD. He has been a guest speaker at Adfest, Promax and Designyatra.
Dominic began his career in marketing roles in the music industry for Universal and Sony before moving to Superunion, WPP’s leading global brand agency. Working alongside industry legends, he learnt the importance of a strategic unifying idea that powers and informs the creative process.
He has worked on award-winning sonic branding projects with Canva and AO, and has featured in sonic branding articles published in Wall Street Journal and Marketing Magazine.
Dominic studied music at the University of Oxford and is a classically trained singer and plays violin, viola and piano.
Abby’s sound design and mixing abilities have been sought out across a wide range of media including advertising, TV, VR, installations and film.
She is known for closely collaborating with producers and composers, creators and actors, bringing together their diverse auditory elements to create a clear sonic vision. She has clients across the Asia Pacific, including Audi, Qantas, Samsung and Smirnoff.
Her work has garnered her positions on creative craft juries for Music and Sound for the LIAs, AWARD and the Clios.
High profile projects include the Serena Williams “I Touch Myself” campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness and the Cannes Lion Gold Innovation winner “The Palau Pledge”, and she was part of the Academy Award winning sound team on Peter Jackson’s King Kong.
An accomplished composer, multimedia artist and academic, Dr. Millward makes visual art and connects it with sound.
The connections between scientific and artistic visualisation processes have fascinated him ever since he studied computer music composition at the City University of New York as part of his MA.
He became the first person to be awarded an Australian Postgraduate Award Industry (APAI) scholarship for music, which he used to complete his PhD in music and applied technologies from the University of Queensland.
It was at this time that Dr. Millward developed his enduring interest in the relationship between sound and image. He began to explore how we interpret the complex interactions between the acoustic and the visual.
Ian graduated from Trinity College, Dublin with a Bachelor of Business Studies in 1989. Moving to London, he took up a position with Arthur Andersen where he specialised in advertising and media including a long-term secondment to the WPP Group.
In 1996 he joined Song Zu as General Manager before taking a 3 year sabbatical from 2000 to 2003 in the world of music for TV and film.
In August 2003 he became part of the Song Zu management buy-out team and spent 2011 to 2019 overseeing Song Zu Singapore.
Ian led the team that re-branded the sonic identities of the Singapore Tourism Board, Mediacorp and Lazada, oversaw the music on the safety film and two worldwide brand campaigns for Singapore Airlines and was responsible for the successful worldwide search for the new voice of the Standard Chartered Bank.
An awarded composer and talented multi-instrumentalist, Adrian always brings imagination and creative vitality to any project, whether it be a 3 second mnemonic, or a feature length film.
In 2013 he joined Song Zu to pursue his passion for marrying music to the moving image. This passion eventually led him to explore how music and sound can coalesce with brand identity.
His compositions have appeared on countless campaigns, both in Australia and abroad, with Singapore Airlines, Coca Cola, Air BnB, Dan Murphy's, Foxtel 4k, and Standard Chartered Bank to name a few.
After six exciting years in Sydney, Adrian creative directs and composes out of Song Zu’s Singapore studio, allowing him to further hone his skills in the vibrant South East Asian region.
Ryan has worked as a sound designer, music composer and creative across sonic branding, advertising, UI/UX, video games & films for companies such as MassiveMusic, Squeak E Clean Studios, EA Games & Ogilvy.
He has helped some of the world’s leading agencies in Australia, New Zealand, London & Amsterdam craft the sound of brands including Kathmandu, Nike, Coca Cola, BMW and Adidas, and since joining Resonance has contributed to Samsung/Optus (Performance Enhancing Music), Canva, and the Australian Open.
Ryan completed a Bachelor of Popular Music at Griffith University before moving into the electronic music world, where he is still involved today. He is also currently one half of the house music production/DJ duo Otosan (with over 8 million streams on Spotify so far), and has previously remixed world-renowned artists such as Gotye, helping him land his first ARIA Award in 2007.
Gerard is a musician, composer and orchestrator specialising in music for advertising for two decades, ever since he joined Song Zu Singapore in 1996.
Brand personality and awareness through sound has been an enduring passion for Gerard. He has cultivated a partnership of ‘thought in sound’ with many clients from around the region including Google, Unilever, Singapore Airlines, Changi Airport Group, DBS, Tiger Beer, and many Singapore Government ministries. He creatively directed the sonic branding for Lazada, Mediacorp, and PUB (Public Utilities Board).
Highly awarded, Gerard has won accolades from London International, New York Festival, CCA, and Asian Television Awards.
He was a judge at the Singapore Creative Circle Awards, Adelaide Art Director Club, and Perth Art Directors Club.
Donny’s passion for film and the media industry led him to attain a Bachelor of Communications majoring in Media Arts and Marketing from Deakin University in Melbourne.
On graduating, he worked with Infinite Frameworks for 6 years, leading a team of producers and facilitating regional and global clients in 3D, visual FX and post-production for TVCs, Documentaries and Feature Films.
In 2007 he joined the production team at Song Zu where he has negotiated major publishing and licensing deals for global clients such as Google, Spotify and P & G and oversaw the sonic branding of Singapore’s Public Utilities Board (PUB).
In July 2019, Donny was invited to become a partner in the Song Zu Group.
Lance was a self-taught guitarist in his teenage years. This led to a successful audition at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music where he completed his honours in composition.
In the years following, Lance toured and released music as an electronic artist playing festival slots and venues all around the globe. He has collaborated with artists such as Ngaiire and Antony & Cleopatra and has been an in demand remixer for acts such as Rufus and The Presets.
In-between touring and releasing his own music he wrote the music and songs for the ‘Bondi Hipsters’ web-series and scored ABC/NBCU’s ‘Soul Mates’ seasons 1 and 2 and ‘The Other Guy’.
His soundtracks have appeared on countless advertising campaigns including Tiger Beer, Champion, MasterCard, Citibank and Tourism Australia.
With over 10 years’ experience as an agency producer, there isn’t a complicated brief, short deadline or tight budget Jessie hasn’t encountered. Added to this is her encyclopaedic knowledge of actors both here and abroad. In fact if they’ve appeared in a movie, on TV, at the theatre or even your local town hall, chances are Jessie will know who they are and where to find them.
